Akron brings a never give up attitude to Idaho

Posted

This Tuesday at Albertson's stadium will be the 19th annual Potato Bowl. This year it will be the Akron Zips and the Utah State Aggies.

Utah State lost two games this season against nationally ranked rushing defenses. They will have have one final chance to erase that against Akron.

The Zips enter the bowl game with the country's number three defense against the run allowing under 90 yards per game. Only Alabama and Boston College are better.

Coach Bowden says it's his teams never give up attitude as to why they’re so successful this season.

" We ask them to trust us, to do what we say, and never give up. They have never given up this year. We were three and five after losing to Oklahoma. We lost to Pitt and got beat pretty bad. We had to get our confidence back. Sitting three and five and we won our last four ball games and by the last two we were winning going away and it’s because these guys don't ever give up.” Said Akron head coach Terry Bowden.”
