On paper, the match up for Saturday's game with Boise State and troy might not jump out at you however it could be a shootout between Broncos Brett Rypien and Trojans Brandon Silver.
The Alabama native could possibly be in the discussion to be drafted in this years NFL draft.
Silver completed 64 percent of his passes last year with 23 touchdowns and allowing just 12 interceptions.
Coach Harsin says that his resume and effort speak for themselves.
"This guy is an NFL player certainly does a very good job. he is efficient and can extend plays and move the ball around quite a bit. We have a really good one as well (Brett Rypien) both of these guys have shown they can play and they can play at a high level. They aren't battling each other but it's something in that game that I'm sure the fans will be paying attention to," said, Head Coach Bryan Harsin.
One other note from coach Harsin's press conference the team has given out two scholarships to two local players on the team with former Timberline linebacker Will Hefner and Bishop Kelly long snapper Nicholai pitman.
With the addition of those to it makes a total of six walk-ons put on scholarship during fall camp for the Broncos.
It's worth noting both of the new scholarship players have history with the program as their fathers were teammates and and played three seasons with Boise State.
