Bronco AD shares thoughts on Poinsettia Bowl

Posted

Boise State has accepted an invitation to play in the Poinsettia Bowl against the Northern Illinois Huskies on December 23rd.

With a win over San Jose State in the final regular season game, Boise State finished the regular season 8-4 -- their 18th straight winning season.  Northern Illinois heads to California after losing in the MAC title game 34-14 to Bowling Green.

Both squads enter postseason play with 8 wins on the season.  Boise State Athletic Director Curt Apsey says this bowl isn’t just huge for the football game but even better for the University.

“With an 8-4 record I still think there's a lot of people out there that are interested in having Boise State.  I think it’s bigger than that I think it’s about the University and our community and the State of Idaho.  I don’t think it's just about football I really do think it’s about or institution and this community.” said, Boise State Athletic Director Curt Apsey.

The bowl game will kick off on December 23 in Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
