The College of Idaho football team will have a new look when the 2016 season kicks off on Sept. 3 against Montana Western, unveiling today a new helmet color and logo, along with two different sets of game pants.
After wearing a gold helmet with the College’s alternate “CI” logo on the sides, the Coyotes have changed the helmet color to an anodized purple, accompanied by a large Coyote head on either side and a metallic silver uniform number in the back. The look is similar to that of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings.
“I do not like to make changes every year and I am quite the traditionalist,” said head coach Mike Moroski. “But the design is the artistic conception of our popular Supervisor of Equipment, John Grove. I think he has captured a design that appeals to our players, alumni and fans. We are all very excited about the new style.”
C of I will also have the option to wear either white or black pants for their games – with the word “YOTES” used as piping on either side of the pants.
The Yotes will continue to wear purple uniforms at home and white uniforms on the road.
