The Idaho Vandals will be playing in a bowl game for the first time since 2009 with their win over Texas State.

The win was a whole team effort as the defense had 8 tackles for a loss totaling 41 yards having four sacks.

Quarterback Matt Linehan completing 78.8 percent of his passes for his fifth-best career total yardage output of 336 yards. He added another 24 rushing for 360 yards total offense.

"It was huge you know it made us bowl eligible.  I've never been prouder of a bunch of assistant coaches and players in my whole life.  We came thru the players came thru a lot they got kicked out of a league, they got told they were going to move down and all this has happened.  To go 3-1 on the road in the league is pretty awesome," said, Head Coach Paul Petrino.

The Vandals return home for their final two games of the regular season beginning with South Alabama this coming Saturday.
