Allie Ostrander and David Elliott have been named the Mountain West track and field athletes of the week. Elliott won the 3,000 meter at the University of Washington Invitational this past weekend and Ostrander took second in the 5,000 meter.

Elliott’s time was the fifth fastest time in Mountain West history and Ostrander broke the conference record by more than 28 seconds which was held by Emma Bates (15:50.78). The freshman has the fastest 5,000 meter time in the country this year and the redshirt senior’s 3,000 meter is the fourth fastest.

With the University of Washington having an oversized 307 meter track, Ostrander now has the third fastest time in collegiate history on the oversized track list in the indoor 5,000 meter. If her time would have been on a normal size indoor track, she would have moved into 7th place on the all-time collegiate list in the women's indoor 5,000 meter.

The Broncos will host their fourth home meet of the indoor season this weekend when the Jacksons/NB Indoor Invitational takes place on Feb. 5th and 6th at the Ford Idaho Center.
