The Idaho Vandals grabbed their 7th win of the season with the efforts of sophomore running back Isaiah Saunders who had the hot hand with 23 carries for a career-high 142 yards and three touchdowns.

Idaho was able to hang on to a 38-31 victory over South Alabama.

Senior receiver Callen Hightower, was back to full strength for the first time in nearly two months, led the receivers with five catches for 111 yards as a quarterback Matt Linehan completed 17 of 34 passes for 231 touchdowns.

The Vandals now have won three in a row and five of their last six.

“We just wanted to come in and run the ball and shove it down their throat and that’s what we did.  We knew during the week they couldn’t tackle that good so we wanted to bring that light,” said, Running Back Isaiah Saunders.

“Felt going into it we were going to get their best shot because they were planning to be in a bowl game and we just kept fighting and it was a great job by our players,” said, Head Coach Paul Petrino.
