BOISE — Ice cream vendors gathered today to give people a chance try several different sweet treats all at once.
The first Boise Ice Cream Festival took place took place at JUMP on Saturday. Gelato, ice cream, Italian ice, rolled ice cream, and other desserts were served. One of the co-founders of the event, Kristopher Ott, says it’s an innovative way to gather people in a fun environment.
“All the ice cream you can eat," Ott said.“Our goal is to really inform the community about all these great businesses and all these creative people that are in the Boise area.”
Volunteers for the event came from the local non profit Create Common Good. The organization helps people get work experience and back on their feet.
Part of the proceeds will go the organization.
It’s estimated there were more than 200 flavors from mostly local vendors.
