A Midweek Cool Down

Posted

The month of August kicks off much like the month of July ended: hot and sunny!

Areas of smoke will be a concern for the next several days, especially since a new fire burning in eastern Oregon could possibly carry smoke into the west central mountains and the western Treasure Valley, areas which had been clear of smoke until now.

On Tuesday, multiple fire weather watches go into effect as a dry cold front approaches. Gusts up to 30mph are possible throughout the day tomorrow and humidity will be very low, so any new fire starts will spread quickly. Temperatures behind the front drop by nearly 10° for Wednesday, ushering in the most comfortable day of the week with highs in the mid 80s around southern Idaho.
