BOISE, Idaho — It's always calm before the storm and here in the Gem State, Friday is our one and only "calm" day before another snow storm hits early Saturday morning. This past week the Boise Airport recorded five inches of snow, and with this next system in place, we anticipate another two to five inches in the Treasure Valley. There is plenty of snow in our forecast, but we also have mild temperatures as well. Throughout the valley, we'll feel temperatures in the high twenties low thirties, but our overall lows will hit the teens.
Tonight a Winter Storm Watch warning will be put into place affecting Cascade, Horseshoe Bend, McCall and Baker City. The warning will be in effect until Tuesday. The areas are expected to receive one to two feet of snow with localized areas receiving almost four feet. If your weekend travel plans include a trip to the mountain, maybe reconsider as travel conditions will be highly unpleasant.
