Warm temperatures will get hotter by the weekend.

Some spots in western Idaho had heavy downpours. The airport in Ontario had just under a half inch of rain while McCall and Donnelly had a heavy thunderstorm with lots of lightning. Donnelly saw .60" rain and McCall has just under .25". Everyone who did not see any storms had a pretty spectacular day.

A drier, hotter weather pattern will begin to develop Wednesday into Thursday but some isolated storms will linger in the higher terrain on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday will be close to 90 in the valley with lots of sunshine.

Friday should finally top 90 degrees in the valley with 80 degrees likely in the higher terrain of central Idaho.

Looking ahead to the holiday weekend, I am expecting very hot weather with sunshine and temperatures in the upper-90s for the valleys. The central mountains will be in the 80s with sunshine and no storms. Perfect for bbq'ing!

The heat and sunshine will continue through the 4th of July with valley temperatures in the mid-90s while Idaho City could reach the upper 80s and McCall, the low 80s.
