An Idaho clothing company that created a T-shirt named #idahostrong in hopes of helping local restaurants has raised over $3,000 in less than two weeks. The Idaho Shirt Company is giving a $10 gift card to a local participating restaurant with the purchase of every T-shirt.

“I’ve actually had restaurant owners call me in tears because they’re so grateful. They’re just super happy because they’re very alone right now and a lot of people are holding back their funds, and so this is a way that we can help them significantly. It’s the most grateful that I have had any of my customers be” Ian Williams, President of The Idaho Shirt Company, said.

The company has always donated five meals to the Idaho Food Bank with the purchase of any item and will continue to donate meals with the #idahostrong shirt. Since last October, they have been able to donate over 6,000 meals to the Idaho Food Bank. They have also recently partnered with the Ronald Mcdonald House to create apparel for their charity.

“We’re just trying to do everything we can to help people in this really dark time and give a sense of hope and unity throughout the state,” Williams said.

Since releasing the shirt, the company has seen several responses from local restaurants wanting to participate. The list included 13 restaurants just a week ago and now includes 18. They hope to keep expanding that number.

“We just want people to have hope because if we can come together, we can conquer anything right now even though this is a really hard time for everybody,” Williams said.
